This weekend I went to The Village in Hazelwood and I finally got to pop into Spout. I’ve heard many a good thing about this new coffee spot. I’ve fawned over Instagram posts and let me tell you, it didn’t disappoint. I caught Veronica and Phillipp in a very busy morning rush, which gave me some time to wander around and explore this beautiful stacked container space. I thought that my little visit would entail taking a few snaps, trying the much raved about coffee and banana bread and that would be that. Little did I know I wouldn’t want to leave.
My thoughts… I want to park my car around the corner and sleep there so that I can start my morning with one of their cappuccinos in those gorgeous artisan cups. The cups are quite special, they don’t have ears which obviously means you actually have to embrace your cup and, in turn, your coffee. Veronica and Phillipp giggled and said they don’t have ears so they can’t hear your secrets!
Veronica’s great sense of style comes across in every plate and it is something you can expect from an art director with boatloads of experience. Every plate looks like a masterpiece. It is evident that Phillip really loves his coffee and he scrutinises every single cup before it leaves the coffee bar. This ensures an awesome visit every time!
Ok, I guess at this point I must admit I LOVE banana bread. The only thing is…I usually only like the banana bread my parents make. This time, though, I must say I was not disappointed. Not only is the banana bread really tasty, the added flavour (don’t ask me what they do, it is magic) just completely transforms this from your usual banana bread to a taste sensation. Plus, they might have converted me to maple syrup whipped butter. I don’t think I’d like anything else on banana bread anymore. I found myself wondering if the people around me would judge me if I swept the butter bowl clean with my finger.
All in all, the great coffee and treats and the lovely owners make Spout a place that is definitely worth the visit!
